Dear Park Friends,
We want to share exciting news and ask for your support to enhance the communal resources available at Peachtree Hills Park. We all recognize the benefits of our park and likely have made some wonderful memories there, whether on the tennis/pickleball courts, in the community garden or playing on the playground. That said, our park could benefit from an update, particularly when you consider that the current playground equipment was installed 21 years ago—despite having an expected lifespan of 15 years. In other words, we are long overdue for updated equipment and want to install a playscape that is modern, inclusive and engaging—something akin to the playscapes installed at Memorial and Chastain Parks.
Excitingly, the City of Atlanta recently budgeted $350,000 towards a new playground and we are optimistic about securing additional funds in matching grants from Park Pride. We hope to raise an additional $250,000 through gifts from our neighbors, helping us reach our total goal of $700,000. These funds will be used to cover the cost of design and installation of new equipment; we hope to allocate remaining funds towards updated landscaping, as well.
