Dear Friends of Peachtree Hills Park,

We are writing with an exciting update and to ask for your support to enhance the communal resources available at our neighborhood park. This is updated from the vision we shared in the spring. We have prioritized equipment and opportunities for children ages 0-18 and we truly believe the new playground will offer something for everyone.

We all recognize the benefits of our park and likely have many wonderful memories there whether on the tennis and pickleball courts, in the community gardens, or on the playground. That said, our park could benefit from an update. Our current playground equipment was installed in 2003 and has well exceeded its expected lifespan of 15 years. To provide the best experience for our friends and families we want to install a new playscape that is modern, inclusive and engaging—something akin to those at Memorial Park and Chastain Park.

Excitingly, the City of Atlanta budgeted $600,000 towards a new playground for Peachtree Hills Park and we are optimistic about securing an additional $100,000 from a Park Pride grant. We hope to raise another $150,000 through gifts from the community, helping us reach our total goal of $850,000. These funds will be used to cover the cost of playground design, installation of new equipment, and an updated site layout. Any funds in excess of this goal would allow us to add additional improvements to enhance users’ park experience including updating our pavilion, landscaping and more.

The total goal is certainly higher than we anticipated when we began the playground renovation project. However, our budget is in line with recent renovations at Memorial, Chastain, and Little Nancy Creek Parks. The dollars needed reflect the high prices associated with playground equipment and freight, installation labor, and landscaping materials and labor. We know this is a huge ask, but our community is deserving of a new playscape for our children and we are honored to lead the effort. With your generosity and the support we have received from the City and, hopefully, Park Pride, we believe we can pull this off.
