In addition to our chemical and bacterial monitoring, we also report changes in the overall appearance and characteristics of the creek and the creek bank. Visual inspection includes things like clarity or turbidity of the water, excess amounts of silt or organic matter, erosion or damage to the creek banks, and so forth. These observations are as important to identifying sources of pollution and critical impacts to the creek as the chemical or bacterial testing.
When viewing the data on the AAS website, there is an Event ID cell for each monitoring event with a hyperlinked form. Clicking of the word form, opens the site information page for that monitoring event. Please see the screenshot below to see what sorts of observations are noted during the monitoring event.
